Storm Advice - THREAT IS REDUCED - parts of MIDWEST GASCOYNE and GOLDFIELDS MIDLANDS
A Storm Advice has been issued for parts of the MIDWEST GASCOYNE and GOLDFIELDS MIDLANDS.
The immediate threat has reduced however you need to be aware of potential hazards that remain after the storm has passed.
WHAT TO DO
- Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris.
- Stay away from fallen powerlines, they are dangerous and should always be treated as live.
- Look around your home, car and property for damage.
- If damage has occurred and you are insured, contact your insurance company and take photos.
- If your home has significant damage, like a badly damaged roof or flooding, call the SES for assistance with temporary repairs on 132 500 (tel:132500) .
- If you do not have a plan, make one now on Emergency WA (https://emergency.wa.gov.au/plan) or in the Emergency WA app (https://emergency.wa.gov.au/app/plan) to stay safe in future emergencies.
STORM DETAILS
At 5:57pm on Saturday, 22 August 2026, the Bureau of Meteorology advised that showers and thunderstorms likely to persist into the evening but the risk of heavy rainfall has eased.
This warning is now cancelled.
ROAD CLOSURES AND CONDITIONS
Roads have not been closed.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map (https://travelmap.mainroads.wa.gov.au/Home/Map) , calling 138 138 (tel:138138) or by contacting your Local Government Authority.
