Smoke Alert for Serpentine including visitors to Serpentine National Park, Keysbrook, North Dandalup, Pinjarra, Mandurah and surrounds in the SHIRE OF SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE, SHIRE OF MURRAY and CITY OF MANDURAH

• A Smoke Alert has been issued for Serpentine including visitors to Serpentine National Park, Keysbrook, North Dandalup, Pinjarra, Mandurah and surrounds in the SHIRE OF SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE, SHIRE OF MURRAY and CITY OF MANDURAH.
  
• The smoke is from a Parks and Wildlife Service prescribed burn 3kms south-south-east of Jarrahdale.
  
• Smoke may affect the Southwest Highway between Jarrahdale Road and Pinjarra and Kingsbury Drive between Jarrahdale Road and the Southwest Highway and other roads in the area.
  
• The smoke is expected to clear throughout tomorrow morning.
  

WHAT TO DO

• Shut doors and windows and turn off air-conditioners.
• If driving through the area, turn on headlights and drive slowly. If you cannot see clearly, pull over to the left, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
• People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses should follow their pre-prepared treatment plan.
• If affected by smoke contact your doctor or call 1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422 ).
• Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map , calling 138 138  or by contacting your Local Government Authority.
